- Liquor baron Vijay Mallya arrived in the Royal Courts of Justice in London on Tuesday because of his fascination with being extradited to India to confront fraud and money laundering charges amounting to $9,000 crores. The 64-year old former Kingfisher Airlines manager, who stays on bail since his arrest on an extradition warrant in April 2017, prevented the regular scrum of reporters in the court entrance and moved in together with his attorneys separately. The High Court judges will start hearing arguments contrary to a magistrates’ court extradition arrangement, signed by former UK Home Secretary Sajid Javid in February this past year. Mr. Mallya had obtained permission to appeal to a single floor, which battles the Indian government’s prima facie case against him of deceptive intentions in obtaining bank loans because of his now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines. The hearing is scheduled for 3 times before Thursday, using a verdict unlikely immediately but it could depend on the way in which the hearing progresses. Mr. Mallya remains on bond between a bail bond values 650,000 along with other limitations on his journey while he competitions that judgment. You have reached your limit for free posts this month.
